His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has served as President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi since May 2022.

Born in 1961, His Highness was ten years old when the UAE was formed and spent his earliest years against a backdrop of remarkable change as the country embarked on a journey of rapid growth and development. He saw first-hand that when leaders work with their people, with vision and determination, they can build a globally connected and thriving nation.

Working alongside his father and the UAE’s first President, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; his brother and predecessor as UAE President, the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has dedicated his life to advancing the UAE’s social, economic, and cultural development with the goal of realising a more secure, flourishing, and sustainable future for his country and people. These efforts have contributed to the UAE’s transformation into a beacon of stability and diversity in the region and a global hub for commerce, creativity, and innovation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed continues to prioritise investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure and regional security to enable further progress and growth, and he firmly believes in empowering men and women to forge their own paths and shape the future of the nation. Known for being a leader among his people, His Highness participates in regular engagements with citizens and residents to better understand and address the needs and aspirations of the people of the UAE.

His Highness is a devoted and compassionate father, grandfather and mentor. He is passionate about falconry and poetry, particularly the Nabati style native to the region.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is married to Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan; they have four sons and five daughters and are blessed with numerous grandchildren.
